French Startup Pasqal and Nvidia Partner on Hybrid Computing

French quantum computing firm Pasqal has announced a strategic partnership with Nvidia to integrate its quantum systems and cloud platform with Nvidia’s open-source CUDA-Q software. The collaboration aims to accelerate the development of hybrid quantum-classical applications, giving developers access to more powerful tools for quantum computing within high-performance computing (HPC) environments.

Pasqal, founded in 2019, specializes in neutral-atom quantum computing—an approach that uses laser-manipulated atoms to perform quantum operations. By integrating with CUDA-Q, Pasqal will offer software developers a unified programming model that works across traditional CPUs, GPUs, and quantum processing units (QPUs). This allows for seamless development of hybrid quantum algorithms that leverage both classical and quantum resources.

According to Pasqal CEO Loïc Henriet, the partnership with Nvidia responds to a growing demand for tools that bridge the gap between classical and quantum computing. He emphasized that creating a common interface for both ecosystems will be key to accelerating quantum application development across industries.

Pasqal has already raised over €140 million (approximately $152 million) in funding, reflecting strong investor confidence and increasing momentum in Europe’s quantum technology sector. The collaboration with Nvidia not only strengthens Pasqal’s position in the quantum ecosystem but also advances Nvidia’s broader mission to integrate quantum computing into its AI and HPC platforms.

This partnership underscores a larger trend in the tech industry: the convergence of quantum and classical computing.
