CEO of the Year (Responsible Business Certification) – Essex 2024
I’m the CEO and co-founder of the Organisation for Responsible Businesses which my husband and I launched in 2010 as a movement for a better way of doing business: a way that is good for business and also for people and the environment. In 2011 we launched the Responsible Business Standard, a comprehensive, robust, evidence-based ESG certification for small businesses, devleoped in conjunction with, and verified by, Anglia Ruskin University. Our key focus is driving this agenda in the small business community, a sector that accounts for 99% of private businesses in the UK yet is often under valued and under supported. We believe it is these small business that have the power to change the world! In 2023, I published: ‘It Really Is Just Good Business: The Art of Operating a Responsible, Ethical and Profitable Small Business’ – an Amazon best seller. I’m several years past the ‘normal’ retirement age but remain committed to driving this agenda and supporting small businesses.
